Tony Arbolino

A talent forged since childhood

Born on August 3, 2000 near Milan, Tony Arbolino was just four years old when he began in mini-moto. In 2009, he took part in the Italian Championship, where he progressed steadily. In 2015 and 2016, he raced in Spain with the SIC 58 team of Paolo Simoncelli. Runner-up in his second season in the CEV, he made his Grand Prix debut in 2017, scoring his first two points. The following year, recruited by the Marinelli Snipers team, he regularly finished in the top ten. It was in 2019 that he took another step up, reaching the podium seven times and winning two fine races, which allowed him to finish the season in fourth place. Challenging for the title in 2020, he ultimately completed his last Moto3 season in second place in the overall standings behind Albert Arenas.

Between success, challenges, and a thirst for revenge

Moving up to Moto2 with the Intact team in 2021, Tony Arbolino earned a promising fourth place at Le Mans. Fourteenth in his first season in the intermediate class, he was then recruited by the Marc VDS team to replace Augusto Fernandez, who had moved to Aki Ajo’s team. The Italian doesn’t disappoint his new employers. Indeed, he secured his first three Moto2 wins and climbed onto the podium five times to finish the championship in fourth place. The following season, Tony Arbolino won the honorary title of world vice-champion, with nine podiums including three wins. A favorite at the start of the 2024 season, he unfortunately struggled to adapt to the Pirelli tires that had replaced the Dunlops. Only tenth at the end of the season, he joined the Pramac team, but failing to adapt to the Boscoscuro chassis, he couldn’t get things back on track. Recruited for 2026 by the Fantic team, the rider SHARK has a thirst for revenge.
