MOTO 2

Sergio Garcia

A confirmed talent

Spanish champion in the Pre-Moto3 category in 2016, Sergio Garcia made his debut in
CEV Moto3 the following year. He finished seventh in his first season
with a win in Barcelona. Despite his four victories in 2018, he missed out on the
title due to an injury. However, his performances opened the doors to the world championship in 2019
with the Estrella Galicia team. Winner of the
last race in Valencia, he failed to bounce back in 2020.
He recorded two podiums anyway to climb to ninth place in the championship.

Recruited by the Aspar team in 2021, he wins three races and, despite two
missed races due to a kidney injury following a crash in
Austin, he finishes third in the championship. He starts the 2022 season in a big way with three wins and seven other podiums that allow him to
lead a large part of the championship before being beaten by his teammate
Izan Guevara.

Crash, rebound, ambition

In 2023, he moved up to Moto2 with Flexbox HP40, a team with which he recorded two Top 5s. After the withdrawal of the Pons team,
he bounced back in 2024 with MT Helmets MSI at the helm of a Boscoscuro. He dominated much of the season thanks to two wins before being injured at the shoulder in Aragon and slipping down to fourth place in the championship.

A title contender last
year, the rider SHARK unfortunately injured himself again before the championship even opened. Absent from the first few Grand Prix,
he was then never able to get back to his level before being dropped by the MSI team. A late-season stint with IntactGP nevertheless helped him get his confidence back and convinced the Gresini team to sign him for the 2026 season.
