Matteo Bertelle

Matteo Bertelle, a rapidly rising career

Sacred Italian champion Pre-Moto3 (CIV) in 2017, Matteo Bertelle joined the European Talent Cup in 2018. With two wins at Jerez, he finished fifth in the overall standings. The following year, he made his debut in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he secured a podium and finished 14th overall. After a more difficult 2020 season (16th with 41 points), he bounced back in 2021 with a win at the Sachsenring and a seventh-place finish in the standings.

At the same time, he took part in the CEV Moto3, finishing 23rd in 2019 and 21st in 2021, while also earning a wildcard for the San Marino GP with the Bardahl VR46 Riders Academy team. He earned a permanent Moto3 ride with Avintia Esponsorama, but with 16 points scored in 10 races
and a crash at the Sachsenring that caused him to suffer a rupture of the ACLs, he was forced to withdraw for the second half of the season.

Come back stronger

Back in 2023 with the Rivacold Snipers Team, he signed two Top 7s
in Thailand and Qatar and finished 18th in the championship. In 2024, he repeated
almost the same performance with an identical number of points. Last year,
after being recruited by the MTA team, the Italian showed solid ambitions.

With two pole positions and three top 5s, including a podium, in the first three Grands Prix, Matteo looked well on his way. Unfortunately, a serious injury at
training ruined the rest of his season. Out for months, he didn’t
return to competition until the end of the year to finish 17th in the championship. He too is dreaming of a year of revenge this time.
