Moto 3

Eddie O'Shea

Training and power-on acceleration

Eddie O’Shea took his first steps very young on a minibike before moving up to the British Talent Cup in 2019. He finished third there in 2020 with five podiums and a pole position.

In 2021, he made his entry into the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, where he
spent three seasons while honing his skills in JuniorGP. He recorded his
first JuniorGP podium in 2022 and progressed to 10th place
in the standings in 2023.

Learning at the highest level

In mid-2024, O’Shea, rider SHARK in the UK for a long time, was called up by the MLav Racing, Michael Laverty’s team, to replace Joshua Whatley in Moto3.

With a 16th-place finish in Malaysia as his best result from his four
races, the Brit earned a spot to compete in 2025 in his first
full season in the world championship. He only scored three points to end the year
in 32nd place. Eddie knows it: he needs to do better
this year.
