The steady trajectory of Marcel Schrötter
Born on January 2, 1993, in Vilgertshofen, Marcel Schrötter began his career in 2002, a year in which he won the Pocket Bike Junior Cup in Germany.
He was then nine years old. He then shone in the ADAC Mini Bike Cup. In 2005, under the watchful eye of Toni Mang, a five-time world champion, Schrötter excelled during training sessions and finished third in the ADAC Junior Cup, then second the following year.
Guided by Mang from 2007, Schrötter joined the IDM 125 championship. He quickly made a name for himself by finishing fifth in the overall standings in his first season. In 2008, he clinched the IDM title.
In parallel, Schrötter made his first steps on the international scene with a wildcard at the German Grand Prix in 2008 and three others in 2009, including one in Valencia, which resulted in a fifth place.
Schrötter made the big leap to the global 125 in 2010, supported by Mahindra, then in Moto2 in 2012. He carried the colors of SAG, Tech3, and AGR before joining Dynavolt Intact GP in 2017, a team with which he achieved three Top 10 finishes despite a scaphoid injury.

One podium after another towards victory
In 2018, he progressed by recording his first podium at Misano and finished eighth despite another injury. Still competitive, Schrötter secured four more podiums until 2020.
He continued the adventure in Moto2 until 2022, during which he participated in his first WorldSSP race in Australia, before joining the category full-time in 2023 with MV Agusta Reparto Corse.
With seven podiums to his name, he concluded the season in third position. Facing more challenges in 2024, he finished four times among the top three and secured another Top 5 in the championship. He was also called up as reinforcement by the Ajo team in Moto2 to replace the injured Deniz Öncü for three races. Still in search of his first victory, the rider SHARK aims for the top in 2025.
