David quickly made his own path in the world of motorcycle sports. Spotted in Spanish national competitions, he made his debut in the 250 Grand Prix in 1996 before quickly turning to Endurance, a discipline where he would build a remarkable career. A pillar of GMT94 from the early 2000s, he established himself as one of the great specialists of the category thanks to his consistency, precision, and ability to perform in all conditions. He won his first world title in EWC in 2004, then repeated the feat in 2014, 2017, and 2019, becoming one of the most titled riders in the history of the discipline.

Winner several times of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Bol d’Or, David has built an outstanding track record over the years. Both team captain and metronome, he has also been able to support and help many teammates progress, such as Mike Di Meglio or Niccolò Canepa. After GMT94's withdrawal from the EWC championship, he continued the adventure with the SRC KAWASAKI team, before joining the ERC Endurance team, where he continues to showcase his experience. In 2025, at 44 years old, he remains a pillar of the field and an essential reference in the world of motorcycle endurance.
