| This year, Shark celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since its sensational entrance into the world of motorcycles, Shark has never stopped in its evolution and creating its own place in history. 2 decades after its conception, the French brand still makes large contributions to the motorcycle story. Today, many famous riders have become part of the Shark legend: Raymond Roche - Carl Fogarty – J-Philippe Ruggia - Miguel Duhamel – Alex Barros – Arnaud Vincent – Michael Pichon - Régis Laconi – Yves Demaria - Randy de Puniet – Gabor Talmacsi – Olivier Jacque, Mike Di Meglio…and many others. Today, we are proud of our 40 world championships. It is thanks to them that we have developed helmet ranges that have helped to build and nurture the mythology of our brand. We can read in the Holy Writ: “it started with the verb”. The birth of Shark started in 1988 with the XRC, our ‘verb’, the only helmet at that time with visible Carbon. Everything started from there. This instinctive willingness to create helmets would be considered today as being completely crazy, but this is how we work. This is the passion, our passion that shows us the way and drives us forward, otherwise, how do we explain the new launch of the RSR 2 Carbon to celebrate our anniversary? Have a look at it, and you will understand! 20 years ago, we were the first and only manufacturer to use carbon fiber. In 2008, we are the first to launch onto the world market a unique helmet with double type approval in both Integral and Jet configurations. Over these past 20 years, creativity was the foundation of our innovative choices. We have now been rewarded with the Sharp helmet test results, conducted by the department of transport, UK. The crash tests results underlined the main function of a helmet: to save your life. Conducted by an independent agency, those tests simulate real accidents, and Shark is once again at the top, whatever the helmet tested from within our range. To change, to question ourselves, to develop new technological ideas, these are the daring challenges in which we are engaged and what make us amongst the world leaders. It is obvious that we are not imitating anyone! The rigor is equaled in both marketing and in R&D. Today, for motorcycle riders as well as everyone else, we all live in a fast changing world. That is exactly why we do not segment our range by type or by helmet, but by typology of users. EvoLine might be used by “road riders”, but also by new users of powered two-wheels. In the same way, we consider that full face helmets are not reserved for racers! Many urban users are happy to wear one whilst on their scooters. Our range takes into account everyone’s differences. We prove it with the RSF 3 Miura and Lodge, or the Jet fibre RSJ. Passion without preconceived ideas. |
